Social Bull were invited by Société Générale, worldwide sponsor of the 2023 Rugby World Cup, to stream an English version of this week’s draw for the competition in France. 

Presenter Alex Payne was joined by England’s Jonny Wilkinson, Bella Milo & Matt Giteau to get their live reaction to the groups, which due to the pandemic had to take place remotely and meant all the guests were in their own homes across the world.

We were given a short turnaround time with just four days notice to create the production. We broadcast live from The Oval in London, using Social Bull’s live production suite to bring in the stream from Paris and to ensure that our guests, who were all in their own homes in the UK, Australia and France were able to view it in real-time. Social Bull also produced the on-screen graphics and set.

We had a two camera set-up in our London studio which fed into our suite and we had our guests constantly on a monitor for Alex to reference. He also had a separate audio feed of the guests which we sent to him via his own AirPods. We tested all of our guests' connections the day before, which gave us the opportunity to test our own graphics too.

The stream was hosted on Société Générale’s LinkedIn, Twitter & YouTube pages and you can also find some bonus content we recorded after the draw took place on their channels which required keeping in regular communication with Societe Generale’s social media team in Paris throughout the hour long stream.
